What i have done

I trained as a photographer so I can take photographs (professionally). I worked in commercial and industrial photography and produced large graphics for exhibitions. I have a good knowledge of typefaces, how to layout graphics, designing posters and the use of text and colour.

I ran a small printing company, using a litho-offset so I can mange print, copying, collating, scanning etc. I can usually get my head around the in's and outs of most modern laser printers/copiers/MDH machines.

I ran a twelve room B&B in Weston-super-Mare. So I know all about cleaning rooms, welcoming guests, running booking systems, running a bar (I have a BII Certificate), maintenance and all the other little jobs involved in keeping a 24 hours a day business running.

I have worked as a volunteer for the National Trust. I was leader at several NT Working Holidays organising teams to work on NT properties. Clearing woodland, building stiles, creating paths, clearing rhodedendron, digging ditches. I was also responsible for arranging cooking rotas and menus. Also minibus driving/

More recently I have been trying to sell advertising on a trade publication using phone and email selling.

I have worked at a caravan site as an assistant warden. Running the shop, checking people in, cleaning toilet blocks, tidying the garden areas, cutting grass and general maintenance.

For many years I worked for a manufacturing and supply company running internal office sales and creating the systems; a team of three 'on-the-road' salesmen; organised exhibition stands at trade shows; created advertising for trade press; created and distributed a company newsletter that was mailed to over 3000 customers.

For six months I worked as a 'superintendent' for a local authority. On a three shift basis was responsible for a three storey office block; maintenance of all printers, fax machines etc.; supervising cleaning staff; all security throughout the building; booking, allocating and preparing rooms for meetings; distribution of internal and external post.

For many years I was an on-the-road salesman driving the length and breadth of the UK visiting businesses demonstrating and selling product mainly in the broadcasting and theatre industry.

I have briefed ad agencies; ordered print; managed exhibition stands; produced Power Point presentations; written countless press releases and articles for press; trained new staff on company policies for phones/letters/email and dress codes.
